Re-Evaluating the Whole Child Model: Social Emotional Learning & Mindfulness in Light of the Christian Worldview

Are you being trained to integrate social-emotional learning practices into your daily teaching? This Professional Development workshop is designed for K-12 educators who want to gain a greater understanding of the “whole child model" and social-emotional learning. Teachers will also learn about the role these programs play on a global stage as the SEL market industry forecast grows.

Teachers will evaluate the social emotional learning model, as well as mindfulness practices, in light of the historic Christian worldview. Alternative strategies for classroom management, conflict resolution, and encouraging good study habits will also be included. Teachers will be empowered to engage these ideas as they thoughtfully and prayerfully work heartily as unto the Lord to glorify Him in all things.
Christians who hold to Biblical views of marriage, sexual behavior and expression face increasing challenges in relationships with family, friends, coworkers and churches as culture further embraces affirming secular constructs of sexuality and identity. Effectively navigating issues of faith and sexuality are vital for Christians as they seek to live as salt and light and share the love of Christ in this cultural moment.

Participants in this workshop will learn key worldview differences between current secular views of sexuality and identity and historically Biblical views. Participants will also increase their knowledge of current research regarding issues of sexuality and learn skills and strategies to more effectively engage and serve others without compromising personal beliefs.
